The Oranor Protocol is a freeware 2D action platform shooter game developed by Rahul Chandel. If you’d like to download and play the game, go to the downloads section.

The Oranor Protocol heavily channels the adrenaline-pumping, run-and-gun energy of classic late-1980s and 1990s arcade shooters, but with modern physics, AI, and system architecture underneath the hood. The main features of the game are as follows:

1. Core Gameplay & Mechanics

Retro Run-and-Gun Action: Fast-paced, side-scrolling combat requiring a mix of precision platforming, cover management, and aggressive pushing.
Destructible Environments: Players and enemies can dynamically shatter sandbag barricades and reinforced cover.
Verticality & Phasing: Intelligent platforming where players can jump up through scaffolding, and smart explosives can be dropped down through floors to hit enemies hiding below.
Environmental Hazards: Procedural artillery barrages that force the player to keep moving, and animated toxic liquid pits that heavily slow and damage the player.
2. The Arsenal & Combat System

Primary Weapons:
Pulse Rifle: The standard workhorse with a clip-based reload system.
Sniper Rifle: High-damage, armor-piercing rounds with distinct glowing white/blue tracers.
Spread Gun: Classic multi-directional crowd control.
Tactical Grenades:
Explosives: Heavy area-of-effect damage that detonates on direct impact or destroys cover.
Flashbangs: Non-lethal tactical grenades that temporarily “blind” and freeze enemies in place.
Rockets: High-velocity projectiles with massive splash damage.
The Gladiator Tank: In Stage 6, the player can mount a fully drivable heavy tank equipped with a 360-degree Heavy Machine Gun and a limited-ammo Main Cannon, complete with its own hull integrity UI and out-of-ammo warnings.
3. Dynamic Enemy AI

Infantry Classes: A color-coded roster of soldiers including standard rifles (Red/White), shielded units (Orange), high-ground grenadiers (Purple), laser-sighted snipers (Blue), and rocket troopers with line-of-sight safety checks (Yellow). Agile and lethal bio-engineered mutants that can tear the player in seconds.
Air Support: Tracking drones that swarm the player and Jetpack Paratroopers that dynamically crash through the ceiling.
Smart Defenses: Heavy Pillboxes equipped with dual weapons. They use trigonometry to calculate the player’s position, restrict their firing to a 15-degree arc, and fire armor-piercing tracer rounds that shoot straight through terrain.
Multi-Stage Bosses: Massive, screen-filling boss encounters with multiple attack phases, destructible turrets, and minion-spawning mechanics.
4. Advanced Engine Architecture

Master Launcher System: Instead of loading one massive file into memory, the game uses a Command Center architecture that launches individually compiled .exe files for each stage, keeping the game incredibly lightweight and modular.
Secure Save Data: A custom save system to prevent players from tampering with their scores or unlocking modes illegitimately.
Cinematic Pausing & UI: A dark overlay that perfectly freezes the game, allowing the player to safely pause the chaos. Floating damage and status text (“BLINDED!”, “NO AMMO”) provide instant tactical feedback.
5. Progression & Endgame

New Game+ (NG+): Securely unlocked upon defeating the final stage. Replaying the game in NG+ doubles the player’s max health and ammo capacities while starting them off with a devastating arsenal of heavy ordnance to tackle increased enemy aggression.
Survival Mode: Securely unlocked upon defeating the final stage. Survive unlimited hordes of the enemy units. The player gets ranked after the mission is over based on the number of waves cleared.
