An ancient settlement discovered by Archaeologists in south-central Israel could be around 10 thousand years old. Motorway workers unearthed the remains in Judean Shephelah, which included a rare cluster of axes and a stone column believed to be part of a temple, during works to widen a section of road. Officials in Israel say that the discoveries provide a broad picture of human development over thousands of years. Archaeologists say almost all the building found at the site underwent a number of construction and repair phases which proved that it was a permanent settlement. Report by Claire Mewse.
