Maa Baniya Devi temple is Sidh Shaktipeeth and dedicated to the Goddess Maa Dasbhuja Maha Kali. (kuldevi of Chandel, rajputs) The temple is located at place Bakhalag, on Arki-Bhararighat Road and the distance from Arki to Baniyadevi temple is 10kms. A 1km link road from Didu Station (1 km ahead from bakhalag towards Bhararighat) connected the temple with the main road. The temple lies in dense forest so the temple also known as Van Durga or Maa Baniya Devi in locals. Baniya Devi mandir is very famous and has numerous devotees thronging it on many religious occasions, throughout the year. Small red flags decorate the temple then, and women outnumber men among the devotees. Folklore is replete with tales of the Baniyadevi temple, so much so that one does not know where legend ends and history begins.
