The people at CERN are attempting to discover [what they call] "Secret Dimensions". In addition to this, they hope to discover the "Missing Higgs", or the "god particle" - the particle that is responsible for holding the universe together.

The Significance of Shiva's Dance:
This cosmic dance of Shiva is called 'Anandatandava,' meaning the Dance of Bliss, and symbolizes the cosmic cycles of creation and destruction, as well as the daily rhythm of birth and death. The dance is a pictorial allegory of the five principle manifestations of eternal energy — creation, destruction, preservation, salvation, and illusion. According to Coomerswamy, the dance of Shiva also represents his five activities: 'Shrishti' (creation, evolution); 'Sthiti' (preservation, support); 'Samhara' (destruction, evolution); 'Tirobhava' (illusion); and 'Anugraha' (release, emancipation, grace).

new opportunity for the beauty and drama of universal illusion to unfold.....

Shiva is the destroyer .... the one who destroys - every second that passes away/time everything .... without time this domain would cease to exist....

All the technology in this world is derived from vedic knowledge....
and the greatest minds that ever existed on planet earth did read vedas and puranas and some even came to Bharat....

Einstein was friends with Rabindranath Tagore, einstein's friend Dean brown learnt sanskrit and translated all the upanishads into english.... J. Robert Oppenheimer's first quote after testing atom was from bhagvata gita.... Pythagoras came to India ad studied here....
all of them were highly influenced by vedic knowledge and spirituality of Bharat....
Chakra, kundalini everything related to spirituality came from here....
Einstein himself was highly influenced by such spiritual bharat e = mc2 is nothing but what Aitareya rishi said yjna is conversion of consciousness into matter and matter in to consciousness through vital force. The vedic seers have discovered a still superior form of energy viz. the power of consciousness. It is the consciousness, which activate our vital energies, which in turn, can bring about any transformation....

but most this information was struck off or simply denied just because to forge the aryan invasion theory and discredit the Bharatiya's of their heritage.... They would say oh this came from egyptians, this came from greeks.... but they would deny and try not to tell the exact source.... Bharat....
oh sumerian is the oldest civilization of all.... when the truth is Indus valley civilization was the most advanced and even older than sumerian....

Bharatiya /Indian contribution to CERN -

High-energy physicists from India, mainly from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), have been participating in experiments at CERN since the 1970s. Subsequently, the TIFR-EHEP Group joined the L3 experiment, contributing hardware for the endcap hadron calorimeter, making major contributions to core software and participating in important physics analyses such as the lineshape analysis, Higgs searches, QCD and b-quark physics.

In the 1990s, The Centre for Advanced Technology (CAT) at Indore delivered hardware for LEP, and the Indian High-Energy Heavy Ion Physics Team contributed to the construction of Photon Multiplicity Detector for the WA93 experiment at the CERN-SPS, followed by physics analyses and publications.

All these developments paved the way for the Indian AEC’s (Atomic Energy Commission) decision in 1996 to take part in the construction of LHC and to contribute to the construction of the CMS and ALICE detectors. The success of the DAE (Department of Atomic Energy)-CERN partnership in the LHC has also led to a new Co-operation on Novel Accelerator Technologies (NAT), which envisions DAE’s participation in CERN’s Linac4, SPL and CTF3 projects, as well as CERN’s contribution to DAE’s programmes.

In this largely European experiment, India has provided about 40 million dollars worth of resources, including all the arms the particle accelerator sits on.

Dr V C Sahni, Director, Raja Ramanna Centre For Advanced Technology, Indore, says: "It is one of the large magnets, 15 meters long whose magnetic field testing was done by the Indian team. The objects that are sitting here they are essentially built by the Electronics Corporation of India Limited."
The entire Large Hadron Collider or LHC will be sitting on India made jacks, these objects weigh 32 tonnes and have to be located to the precision of a few tens of micron.

Prof Sukalyan Chattopadhyay, scientist, Saha Institute Of Nuclear Physics, adds: "This is an Indian detector as you see part of the di-muon spectrometer of Alice. It is fully made in India and on the detectors you see are the significant contributions from the Indian collaboration, which are these chips which are called MANAS chips and these chips are being utilized not only by the Indian scientists but also by scientists from France, Germany, Italy and Russia."

To remind the world of India's deep philosophical understanding of the universe, India donated CERN a giant bronze statue of Natraja -- Shiva performing his dance of cosmic creation and destruction.

Indians have provided more than a 100-man years of contribution to this exercise, and fabricated and shipped precision equipment giving the Indian tricolour a new pride of place.

The parallel between Shiva's dance and the dance of subatomic particles was first discussed by Fritjof Capra in an article titled "The Dance of Shiva: The Hindu View of Matter in the Light of Modern Physics," published in Main Currents in Modern Thought in 1972. Shiva's cosmic dance then became a central metaphor in Capra's international bestseller The Tao of Physics, first published in 1975 and still in print in over 40 editions around the world.
