New research from the US suggests that asteroid impacts on Earth may have scattered life throughout the solar system. By examining chunks of rock thrown into space by large impacts, and filtering the paths of those large enough to sustain microbes, the team, led by Rachel Worth of Penn State University, found that hundreds of thousands of rocks could have reached Mars, Venus and the larger moons of Jupiter.
