A devastating 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck the mountainous Tibet region, killing over 100 people and injuring over 130 others. The epicentre, located near Tingri on the Chinese side of Mount Everest, caused extensive damage to over 1,000 homes and left communities in turmoil. Tremors were felt as far as Nepal and northern India, prompting widespread panic. Rescue operations are underway with over 1,500 firefighters and emergency workers dispatched to the region. Supplies such as tents, coats, and beds have been sent to aid survivors. The Dalai Lama expressed his grief, while President Xi Jinping called for urgent search and rescue efforts.
